If you've got Xbox Game Pass and have never played Sega's long-running series, Yakuza Kiwami is an excellent point to jump in.
It also does well in expanding fan-favorite Goro Majima’s role in the original story while shining a spotlight on Yakuza's greatest rivalry. The Majima Everywhere system is one of Yakuza Kiwami’s best additions to the original experience, introducing an element of surprise that keeps things fresh while presenting a compelling way to level up one of the game’s most useful fighting styles. Kiryu will then begin gaining experience from each encounter with Goro, and leveling up triggers a unique encounter with him that unlocks new features and further deepens their relationship. You’ll eventually run into Goro and be utterly defeated by him, prompting him to follow Kiryu around in an effort to restore their rivalry to its former glory. To unlock the Majima Everywhere system, simply play through the beginning of the game until you reach Chapter 2. Reaching Rank E will allow Kiryu to detect Goro from a distance during exploration, while you’ll need to get all the way up to Rank A for him to barge into the middle of a battle unannounced. Kiryu left prison and isn’t in the fighting shape he used to be. Leveling up your Majima Everywhere rank increases the ways and frequency in which you’ll encounter Goro. Majima Everywhere was a feature added to the remake. After being released, Kiryu finds himself expelled from his yakuza family, and alone in. He does not physically appear in this Game. To save his best friend, Kazuma Kiryu takes the fall for a crime he didn’t commit, and ends up with a 10-year prison sentence. Yakuza Kiwami Nishida is featured in Yakuza Kiwami, helping Kiryu in the Majima Everywhere side-stories by keeping him in touch with Majimas current condition through phone calls and e-mails. It’s also an important system to invest in because the Dragon style is one of Kiryu’s best weapons, and it will be severely nerfed towards the beginning of the game, only improving when you manage to defeat Goro and rank up the Dragon style’s many useful skills. Yakuza, the first installment in SEGAs critically acclaimed action series, gets an extreme remake in Yakuza Kiwami. It may seem like a bit much, but the Majima Everywhere system adds an element of surprise to every aspect of gameplay, making menial tasks like exploration and beating up street thugs feel like they could escalate at any moment. Once you’ve leveled up your Majima Everywhere rank sufficiently, you’ll find yourself running into Goro on a regular basis, as he’ll start to roam the streets of Tokyo and can suddenly attack Kiryu in the middle of any battle.

Goro will disguise himself as a police officer, traffic cone, taxi driver and even as a zombie in order to get the drop on you when you least expect it.
